Toly developed the new custom compact for Guerlain under the “Kiss-Kiss” line. The compact has a distinctive shape with lid, base and platform metallised. The compact has an integrated push button and a metal weight glued into the base. With hidden pin holes, Toly supplied the base separately such that Guerlain could fill and easily assemble.
Guerlain is an important brand within the LVMH group.
Toly won the entire repack for the Sephora colour line. In 2006, eyeshadows and blushers were launched. During 2007, the face powder, bronzing powder and the foundation compacts, were launched.
Toly split the business for Sephora, producing the high volume compacts fully automated in its Malta factory, whilst the lower volume compacts are produced in China. All compacts with windows are insert-moulded and the matt platform creates a unique look.
New colourful eyeshadow palettes were also launched as in-store seasonal promotions.
Sephora remains very active in their product launches and line extensions. Included in the last year’s new product launches, was a new domed window compact for mini terracotta powders, as well as lipgloss, blusher and eyeshadow variants.
Sephora Sculpting Disk
Toly also produced a new platform for Sephora’s Sun Disc compact to launch ‘Sculpting Disc’ – a compact with three powders; mattifying bronzing and highlighting. The lid of the compact is lacquered and has a full size mirror.
In addition to the main line business, Toly also won the compacts for Sephora’s bronzing line. All compacts in this line were U.V. spray-painted. The large palette had an EVA foam platform containing 4 eyeshadows and a blusher. The 2 smaller compacts contained a bronzing powder and a light duo Bronzer.
Chanel remains Toly’s largest customer, and in 2008 Toly continued to produce a full range of different compacts including some new products variants.
All Chanel compacts are produced at Toly’s factory in Malta where automated assembly lines are integrated with in-house U.V. lacquering. Hidden pin holes and push button opening, enable Chanel to set the mark in high quality packaging
In 2008 Toly produced over 3 million compacts for Mary Kay. This beautiful custom compact has a sophisticated magnetic closing system, a full transfer on the lid, and a clever refill system for individual godet configurations. Lid, base and platform are all UV lacquered and the compact is produced on a fully automated line in Toly Malta.
Rock & Republic
Toly produced a complete colour line for Rock & Republic – the fast growing US fashion brand.Two sizes of compact and a screw cap were produced. All parts were chrome-plated including the distinctive R & R logo which was then set in a piece of high-gloss leather. All compacts had magnetic opening. As an exclusive line extension, a version of the compact has over 400 Swarovski crystals glued onto the logo plate
Toly won the contract to repack the entire compact line for Lumene – Finland’s leading colour cosmetic brand.
The compact has an organic shape with distinctive opening, moulded in a metallic blue pigment. The large compact consisted of a mirror version for face powder and a transparent lid for a blusher, whilst the smaller compact contained eyeshadows.
Toly invested in a complete automatic assembly line to produce these compacts in Malta. As line extensions, Toly also produced a small window compact for hot-poured products
Toly won the contract to repack the entire Oriflame colour line, called Oriflame Beauty. Oriflame continuously offer seasonal promotions and line extensions. Over the past 12 months, many of these have been developed in Toly's mini Zeta compact, with interesting colour combinations and decorations.
Toly’s first major customer in the Indian market was Hindustan Unilever (HUL) and in 2007, Toly developed 5 new products for HUL across 2 different ranges.
For Lakme’s ‘Nine to Five’ a ‘Flawless’ crème compact was developed with a distinctive raised ”Infinity” logo which was hot stamped. A foundation cap and pump were also supplied.
Toly launched 3 products for “Elle 18”, Lakme’s entry level brand. These included a living hinge face powder compact and 2 screw pots for a loose powder and a poured lip gloss.
Make Up Store
To celebrate their 10th anniversary, Make Up Store – a specialist make up artist line from Sweden,
re-launched its colour line with custom packaging.
Toly produced a snap-hinged pot for eyeshadows and blushers and a screw pot for a trio concealer product. All compacts had the distinctive logo mania engraved in the lids along with the ‘M’ window.
In 2006, Toly won the contract to repack Rimmel’s eyeshadows. Two sizes of compacts were created with clear lids and snap hinges. In 2007, a number of new products were launched, including a series of blushers and metallic cream eyeshadows.
Toly invested in fully automated decorating to be able to produce up to 80,000 compacts per day in Malta.
Rimmel Mousse Caps
Toly produced 2 sizes of caps for Rimmel’s new mousse products.
First to market was a mousse foundation. This was followed by a mousse bronzer and finally, a series of mousse eyeshadows were launched. The caps were made from multi-cavity, unscrewing tools and were fitted with a wad.Toly produced these caps in Malta whilst filling was done at Coty’s UK factory in Ashford, Kent.
Boots No.7 Caps
Boots remains Toly’s largest UK customer and in addition to the compacts for the No.7 line, Toly also produce a number of caps for both foundation and skin care products.
During 2007, ‘Protect’ and ‘Perfect’ became a major success for Boots and for most of the year, it remained out of stock in the 30ml version. In line with the success, Toly tooled up additional capacity to meet the growing demand.
Jean Paul Gaultier - Monsieur
Men’s make up is a growing segment of the colour cosmetics market and in 2007, Toly produced a custom compact for Jean Paul Gaultier’s ‘Monsieur’ line.
The compact was moulded in black with white decoration and U.V. lacquer protection. The base of the compact had a mirror and the lid has interesting spring-loaded opening to reveal the product along with a brush.
